The Bermanja Panther Chameleon (Furcifer pardalis) is a rare and secretive species native to the Bermanja area of northern Madagascar. This location, which is rarely seen in captivity, is valued for its ability to show uncommon color combinations, such as earthy greens, gentle blues, and deep barring, occasionally with faint reds or yellows. Males normally reach 14-20 inches, while females reach 10-14 inches.

The Bermanja Panther, a visually spectacular and lonely animal, is best seen rather than handled. Panther Chameleons, like all other chameleons, thrive on a varied, calcium-rich diet that promotes good health and vibrant coloration.

Key Information:

  • Size: Males 14-20″, females 10-14″.
  • Location: Bermanja, Madagascar (extremely uncommon).
  • Coloration: High-contrast forest tones with blue/green barring; hue can deepen with food and surroundings.
  • Temperament: Shy, solitary, territorial—best kept alone.
  • Diet:
    •  Insectivorous – Feed on gut-loaded insects such as crickets, dubia roaches, silkworms, hornworms, and black soldier fly larvae.
    • Supplemental Schedule:
    • Calcium (no D3): 3–4 times per week
    • Calcium with D3: once per week.
    • Take multivitamins once a week for overall health and color vibrancy.

Bermanja Panther Chameleons that have been captive-bred are highly rare and are usually only accessible from exceptional breeders   or conservation organizations. If you’re looking for a native, exotic chameleon, the Bermanja for sale at rEPTILE hARBOUR is an excellent choice.
